Simply guess the winner of four chosen races for your chance to claim the cash. Here are Alan Alger's top tips to get you started...
14.40 NEWMARKET
TOP PICK: AURUM
Second choice: Mutaaqeb
A Listed Betway sponsored contest gets us under way, with a small field.
The market suggests that we have three horses in with a great chance, one outsider and one no hoper.
Ambient is the exposed gelding with a price that shouldn’t be troubling the judge.
Course and distance winner Purser will be fancied after his win at the Craven meeting, but looks as though that’s the upper end of his ability.
It’s another course and distance winner from that meeting, AURUM, which rates as the best selection.
In-form trainer and jockey combo Michael Appleby and William Buick team up and can get another May winner on the board.
15.00 NEWBURY
TOP PICK: MASAARR
Second choice: He’s Amazing
This one is a tough race to call with just the top-weight Connect the only horse out of it at the prices.
The consistent Poet’s Prince has a good chance based on form early this season but is thoroughly exposed.
The better bet could be MASAARR who was a last time out winner two weeks ago at Doncaster.
15.15 NEWMARKET
TOP PICK: NINE BELOW ZERO
Second choice: Tricksy Spirit
NINE BELOW ZERO hasn’t run for over 200 days but can get back to winning ways at Newbury.
He ran on unsuitable going at Salisbury last time and prior to that he was highly tried by trainer Ralph Beckett.
He won his first two races as a two-year-old, so can go well at this stage of the season. Jockey Richard Kingscote has a better than 25 per cent strike rate for the month so far.
15.40 NEWBURY
TOP PICK: LANCASTER BOMBER
Second choice: Rhododendron
The Group 1 Lockinge is the feature race of the day.
I’ve had the misfortune to keep thinking there is a big race to be won with LANCASTER BOMBER and this might be it.
We’re getting a good price based on his long winless run, but conditions will suit and he may just shock better fancied stablemate Rhododendron.
