With £10,000 up for grabs on Wednesday, Thursday Friday and Saturday this week, here are Chad Yeomans' best Chester horse racing tips to get you started.

Top pick: Dr Simpson  | Second choice: Great Dame

The Chester May Festival is synonymous for winners for Tom Dascombe and his team, and I expect nothing different in 2019 with DR SIMPSON taking the Lily Agnes for connections.

This daughter of Dandy Man showed greenness on her debut at Windsor but still managed to finish second behind a very forward filly of Archie Watson. She will be straighter this time around, despite an unfavourable draw.

Another filly, Great Dame is also expected to go very close from a better draw in stall three.

Top pick: La Voix Magique | Second choice: Vivid Diamond

The Cheshire Oaks is often won by a big yard with Aidan O'Brien, John Gosden and Roger Varian all scooping the prize in the past five years.

However, I'm opting for a shock this year in the form of LA VOIX MAGIQUE for trainer Steph Hollinshead.

She ran a very good race first time out at Newbury before taking the Betway Fillies' Novice Stakes at Haydock just 11 days ago, beating some useful types from bigger stables.

The trainer must really think the horse is up to this class to enter it on just it's third career start. The horse looks to be rapidly improving and is surely going to be too big of a price not to back each-way.

The Franny Norton-ridden Vivid Diamon can be expected to try and lead them all a merry dance.

Top pick: Society Queen | Second choice: Dave Dexter

Another trainer who saddles plenty of winners at Chester is Richard Fahey, and I'm sweet on his chances in this race with SOCIETY QUEEN, who won twice as a two-year-old and also ran very creditably in the Super Sprint at Newbury after fluffing the start.

It looks a very winnable race and it appears that the Chester meeting has come around just as Fahey's string are hitting top gear.

Top pick: Dashing Willoughby | Second choice: Norway

The feature race on the card is the Chester Vase, a significant Derby trial and one that is often won by Aidan O'Brien. His main hope, NORWAY, who was placed in a Group 1 as a two-year-old will take a lot of beating.

However, I think the race could be won by a race-fit and improving horse from the Andrew Balding yard in the shape of DASHING WILLOUGHBY.

He chased home King Ottokar on his seasonal debut at Newbury after staying on strongly in the final furlong, suggesting this step up in trip will further suit. I expect him to reverse those placings and take all of the beating here.

Elsewhere on the card, it would be advised to take advantage of our generous extra place offer in the 17:05 by backing GIN IN THE INN  under in-form rider Sean Davis, who is excellent value for his 5lbs claim.

He finished second in this race two years ago off the same mark and looks a very solid bet.
