Tenner On: Our writers battle to win most weekend profit
Armed with a £10 stake, our writers put forth their football tips in an attempt to be crowned the week's top tipster.
Tenner On is our writers' weekly football tips competition.
The rules are simple: each writer is given £10 to place any bet(s) they like over the weekend. At the end of the season, the writer with the most profit is crowned the Insider's top tipster.
Luton and MK Dons to win, BTTS in Crawley v Northampton and Swindon v Newport: £10 at 6/1*
Luton are reaching Manchester City levels of dominance at home, winning their last three league matches at Kenilworth Road 4-1, 5-1 and 4-0.
MK Dons aren’t far off, winning their last five home league games, albeit generally by only a two-goal margin.
Crawley score prolifically at home, and host Northampton, who have scored and conceded in all of their last five.
Swindon won their first home league match under Richie Wellens 3-2, and face a Newport side that are regularly involved in high-scoring games.
Arsenal to win and BTTS, Young Boys to win or draw and BTTS: £10 at 9/2*
Arsenal should beat Huddersfield comfortably at the Emirates on Saturday.
The Gunners are without a clean sheet in eight league games, though, while Huddersfield have scored in five of their last six away matches, so I expect the visitors to get on the scoresheet.
Young Boys are well clear at the top of the Swiss Super League table, but they've only kept two clean sheets in their last eight league games.
I'm backing them to avoid defeat in a high-scoring game against Thun, who have scored nine goals in their last four matches.
West Ham to beat Crystal Palace: £10 at
After recording back-to-back league wins for the first time since January 2017, I fancy the Hammers to make it three in a row against Crystal Palace, who have lost their last four away matches in the league.
Cardiff, Portsmouth, Colchester, MK Dons and Dortmund all to win: £10 at 24/1*
Cardiff have won three of their last four home games and represent great value to beat Southampton, who have managed just four Premier League victories in their last 40 attempts.
In League One, table toppers Portsmouth should continue their march to promotion against Southend.
Colchester and MK Dons have easy home games against Sol Campbell’s Macclesfield and Carlisle respectively, so should both earn three points.
Dortmund have dropped just two points in their last nine Bundesliga games so, at odds against, I’m all over them in the Revierderby.
West Ham and Portsmouth to win, Manchester City to win & under 3.5 goals: £10 at 10/1*
West Ham have won their last two games comfortably, with Tuesday's victory over Cardiff their third in a row at home against teams outside the top four.
Crystal Palace have scored one goal in their last four matches and have taken one point from their last five on the road.
Portsmouth are top of League One, winning their last seven in a row in all competitions.
They should get another three points at some to Southend, who have lost all three of their away games to nil against other members of the top five.
City have already beaten Arsenal and Tottenham away and would have done the same to Liverpool had they scored a late penalty.
They did the double over Chelsea last season with two 1-0 wins, and I can see them doing similar on Saturday.
