Armed with a £10 stake, our writers put forth their football tips in an attempt to be crowned the week's top tipster.
Tenner On is our writers' weekly football tips competition.
The rules are simple: each writer is given £10 to place any bet(s) they like over the weekend. At the end of the season, the writer with the most profit is crowned the Insider's top tipster.
Borussia Monchengladbach, Luton and Napoli to win and BTTS in Bury v Lincoln: £10 at 11/1*
Borussia Monchengladbach are the only side in the Bundesliga with a 100 per cent record at home and it makes sense to back them to extend it against an Augsburg side winless in 10 matches.
Luton are unbeaten in 15 league games and come into this on the back of a 4-0 thrashing of promotion-hopefuls Peterborough, so inconsistent Southend are unlikely to put up much resistance.
Napoli won 2-1 at home to Lazio last weekend, which was their fifth victory in six matches in all competitions and, at this side of evens, I’m very happy to get with them, given that Milan have won just two of their last nine.
Finally, Lincoln and Bury are the top two in League Two, and the top two scorers. I’m expecting them to serve up a cracker in the EFL late game.
Borussia Monchengladbach and Sampdoria to win, BTTS in Blackburn v Hull and Fleetwood v Scunthorpe: £10 at 8/1*
Monchengladbach are eight from eight at home in the Bundesliga this season, and should continue their good work against dodgy travellers Augsburg.
In Serie A, Sampdoria look a big price to win their fourth consecutive home Serie A match against Udinese, who are without a goal in three on the road.
Blackburn have scored in 13 of their last 15 home matches, and take on Hull, who are absolutely flying.
Scunthorpe have also drastically improved in recent weeks, and go to Fleetwood, whose last three home matches have finished 2-5, 2-3 and 2-2.
Tottenham to beat Crystal Palace: £10 at 6/4*
Spurs are battling injuries and fatigue, but their brilliant away form makes me think they’re worth backing at this price.
I also suspect that Roy Hodgson will have one eye on Crystal Palace’s next Premier League game, away at Southampton on Wednesday, when he picks his team for this one.
BTTS in Freiburg v Hoffenheim and Werder Bremen v Eintracht Frankfurt, Juventus and Real Madrid both to win: £10 at 6/1*
I’m kicking off with a German double on Saturday, featuring three of the Bundesliga’s four most reliable BTTS sides.
There have been goals at both ends in 16 of Hoffenheim’s 18 league games so far – a trend I expect to continue at Freiburg – while Frankfurt’s trip to Bremen should be a relatively even game between two attacking sides.
Juventus have won all but two of their 20 Serie A matches this season, and they should take all three points against Lazio, who lost to Napoli last week.
Real Madrid have won seven of their last 10 league games, and will surely see off a poor Espanyol side who have lost eight of their last nine.
Norwich and Forest Green to win or draw & BTTS, BTTS in Wycombe v Plymouth and Cheltenham v Macclesfield: £10 at 15/1*
Another week, another narrow miss for me last time out thanks to a pick that was also tipped by the top two in this competition.
At least Norwich double chance & BTTS did the business. The Canaries have now lost one of their last 16 in the Championship with both teams scoring in 12, so I'll back the same for their game against promotion rivals Sheffield United.
Both teams have scored in seven of Plymouth's last nine matches, while Wycombe have been involved in four 3-2s and two 2-1s in their last 10 at Adams Park.
Cheltenham's last seven matches at Whaddon Road have seen goals at both ends, as have five of Macclesfield's last six.
Finally, Forest Green have only lost two of their 14 away games in League Two, with BTTS in all but one.
