Bournemouth, Luton and Bury all to win & over 1.5 goals, BTTS in Burnley v Leicester and Bristol Rovers v Charlton: £10 at 25/1*
This is a big acca, but I couldn’t decide which one I wanted to take out and a win would do some considerable damage to the rest of the competition.
Bournemouth have only failed to beat top eight teams at home in the Premier League since October, winning five and drawing two of their seven home matches against bottom-half sides all season.
None of those five victories have finished 1-0, so throwing in over 1.5 goals is logical.
Backing Luton and Bury in the same market is straightforward. They have won 17 and 16 home matches respectively this term, only registering one 1-0 each.
BTTS has landed in four consecutive Burnley home matches, and in five straight Leicester away games, so that looks a sensible pick.
Charlton have scored and conceded in all of their last four, and take on in-form Bristol Rovers.
Coventry, Wimbledon and Bury all to win: £10 at 14/1*
Coventry have won four of their last six matches and also drew 1-1 away to league leaders Luton last month in that sequence. At close to 2/1, I’m happy to back them against a Peterborough side that have lost back-to-back games against the bottom two sides in League One.
Wimbledon have won back-to-back games to nil against play-off chasers Peterborough and Doncaster as their great escape bid continues. Southend lost 4-1 away to Scunthorpe despite taking the lead in midweek and are without a victory in nine.
Finally, Bury are unbeaten in 13 in League Two and have won five of their last six matches. They should clean up at home to Cambridge, who have lost nine out of 11 on the road.
Bournemouth, Hull, Preston, Dortmund, Leverkusen and Espanyol all to win or draw, Napoli and Barcelona to win: £10 at 8/1*
I’ve gone for something completely different (and a bit ridiculous) this week.
In theory, these are eight relatively safe bets that return a decent price as an acca.
Bournemouth, Hull, Leverkusen and Espanyol are all good home sides, Preston are in cracking form and it’s hard to see Dortmund losing to Hertha BSC.
Napoli and Barcelona should also record routine wins, but this is all a bit of an experiment really.
Fingers crossed.
Bournemouth to beat Newcastle: £10 at 21/20*
Bournemouth got a much-needed win last weekend – albeit against Huddersfield – and their home form this season has been good. I think they’ll beat Newcastle, who are winless in their last six away games.
