Sunday Betting Guide: Our writers' 10 best football tips
We've compiled our writers’ best football tips, including win/draw/win and BTTS, into one bite-size betting preview for Sunday's matches.
Atalanta to beat Cagliari & over 3.5 goals (11:30)
Atalanta are second only to Juventus in the Serie A form table, having taken 14 points from their last six games.
La Dea thumped Udinese 7-1 at home last weekend and are comfortably the top scorers in the league with 30 goals. Over 3.5 goals has landed in all of their last five in all competitions.
Cagliari have scored in all of their four away games, so should contribute to the goals.
Monaco to beat Saint Etienne (20:00)
Monaco have improved after a dreadful start to the season that saw them fail to win any of their first six matches.
Leonardo Jardim’s side have won five out of six in all competitions since that and beat Marseille 2-1 in the Coupe de la Ligue on Wednesday.
Saint Etienne have won just one of their seven home games in all competitions this season.
Granada to beat Real Sociedad & under 3.5 goals (20:00)
Granada are surprisingly just two points off the top in La Liga with a game in hand after 10 matches.
They have won four straight home games, including a 2-0 victory over Barcelona in September, but haven’t scored more than twice in any of them.
Sociedad were beaten 2-1 at home by Levante on Wednesday and have lost three of their last five.
Atalanta v Cagliari (11:30)
BTTS has landed in Atalanta’s last seven matches, a run that includes a 3-3 draw with Lazio, a 7-1 win over Udinese and a 2-2 draw with Napoli on Wednesday night.
Cagliari are coming off a 3-2 win over Bologna in midweek and have scored in nine successive Serie A matches since a 1-0 defeat to Brescia on the opening day.
BTTS has landed in three of the visitors’ four away games to date, with a 1-0 win over Napoli in September the only exception.
Villarreal v Athletic Bilbao (13:00)
Villarreal beat Alaves 4-1 in their last home game and have now scored 17 goals in five matches at El Madrigal.
They’ve also conceded in four of those games, including four to Granada on the opening day of the season.
Bilbao are coming off a 3-0 win over Espanyol and have only kept one clean sheet in their last six league games.
Crystal Palace v Leicester (14:00)
Crystal Palace drew 2-2 with Arsenal last weekend and have scored in six of their last eight Premier League matches, with Spurs and Man City the only teams to keep them out.
Roy Hodgson’s side put four past Leicester last time these sides met in February and have netted 13 goals in their last four matches against the Foxes.
Leicester are coming off a 9-0 win away at Southampton and have scored in eight of their last nine league games, so they will surely find the net on Sunday.
Rouwen Hennings (Dusseldorf) to score v Cologne (14:30)
Hennings has scored seven goals in 11 appearances this season.
That run includes goals in each of Dusseldorf’s last three home games, while four of his five league goals have come against teams outside the top eight.
Cologne have conceded 11 goals in five away games, including three at Mainz in their last one.
Harry Kane (Tottenham) to score v Everton (16:30)
A price of around evens looks generous for a player who has only failed to score in five of 17 appearances for club and country this season.
Kane has scored in four of his last five Spurs away games, including a brilliant finish at Liverpool last weekend.
Everton have conceded twice to Wolves and three goals to Man City at Goodison Park this season, and have conceded a brace to Kane in four of their last five meetings with Tottenham.
Joaquin Correa (Lazio) to score v Milan (19:45)
Correa has scored against Atalanta and Fiorentina in two of his last three Lazio starts, both of whom sit higher than Milan.
The 25-year-old ranks sixth for xG and ninth for shots per game in Serie A this season.
Milan have conceded seven goals in their last three home games and rank fifth-bottom for xG conceded at home.
Wissam Ben Yedder (Monaco) to score v St-Etienne (20:00)
Ben Yedder has scored in his last six Ligue 1 appearances, so an odds-against price to repeat the trick against St-Etienne looks generous.
The forward ranks eighth for shots per game and second for xG in the division.
St-Etienne have kept just one clean sheet in seven games this season.
