Sunday Betting Guide: Our writers' 10 best football tips
We've compiled our writers’ best football tips, including win/draw/win and BTTS, into one bite-size betting preview for Sunday's matches.
Ajax to beat Twente & BTTS (11:15)
Eredivisie leaders Ajax are six points clear of second, having won 12 and drawn two of their 14 matches so far.
Erik ten Hag’s side have only kept four clean sheets in their 12 away games in all competitions.
Twente have lost six of their last eight matches, but have only failed to score in one of their seven home games this season.
Northampton to beat Notts County (14:00)
Northampton moved up to sixth in League Two following a 2-0 home win over Grimsby last weekend.
That was their sixth victory in their last seven matches in all competitions and fourth on the spin at Sixfields.
The Cobblers beat Chippenham 3-0 in the FA Cup first round, so are a great price against another non-league opponent that is without a win in three.
Leicester to beat Everton & over 1.5 goals (16:30)
Leicester are the closest thing Liverpool have to a title rival at the moment, having won nine of their last 11 league games.
There have been two or more goals in each of those nine victories, a run has taken Brendan Rodgers’ side to within seven points of the top.
Everton were beaten 2-0 by out-of-form Norwich last weekend and have lost six of their last eight league games.
Utrecht v Waalwijk (13:30)
Utrecht are the fourth-highest scorers in the Eredivisie, behind Ajax, AZ and PSV.
They stuck six past Fortuna Sittard at the start of the month and have only twice failed to score in 16 matches.
Both teams have bagged in four of Waalwijk’s last five, including in defeats to both Feyenoord and Ajax.
Manchester United v Aston Villa (16:30)
Manchester United drew 3-3 away to Sheffield United last Sunday, meaning BTTS has landed in four of their last five league games.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have failed to keep a clean sheet in any of their last eight.
They have scored in all nine of their games at Old Trafford this season, while Villa have conceded at least one in all eight of their away games in all competitions.
Wolfsburg v Werder Bremen (17:00)
Werder Bremen have the highest BTTS ratio in the Bundesliga, with both teams scoring in 11 of their 12 league games this season.
They have found the net against Dortmund, Frankfurt and league leaders Borussia Monchengladbach, so shouldn’t have any problems here.
But Florian Kohfeldt’s side are yet to keep a clean sheet this season, so you would expect them to concede against a Wolfsburg side coming into this after 2-0 away win at Frankfurt.
Arsenal not to beat Norwich (14:00)
Arsenal have failed to win any of their last five league games.
The managerless Gunners are without an away win since the opening weekend of the season, losing their last two to nil at Sheffield United and Leicester.
They have fallen short against Watford and Southampton this season, so Norwich - the other member of the relegation zone - have every chance of taking something.
Getafe not to beat Levante (17:30)
Getafe have failed to win and failed to score in either of their last two league games that have come after playing in the Europa League.
Jose Bordalas’ side are without a win in three matches overall, and come into this one having played Trabzonspor away on Thursday evening.
Levante have won three of their last four games, including a 2-1 victory over Barcelona.
Lautaro Martinez (Inter) to score v SPAL (14:00)
Even at short odds, Martinez is a good bet to net his 12th goal of the season.
The Argentine has scored three goals in his last two matches, including a brace at Slavia Prague on Wednesday, and ranks fourth for xG in Serie A.
SPAL have conceded twice to Juventus and three times to Atalnta this season, so are bound to concede chances to Serie A’s second-placed side.
Wout Weghorst (Wolfsburg) to score v Werder Bremen (17:00)
Weghorst has scored 10 goals this season, including three in his last six Bundesliga appearances, and one in the Europa League on Thursday.
He ranks eighth for xG and 10th for shots per game in the Bundesliga.
Werder Bremen have conceded at least twice in five of their last six away games and lost 2-1 at home to Schalke last week.
