Troy Deeney to score

Of Deeney’s five league goals last season, three were penalties at home to top-six opposition.

The Hornets’ captain is presumably still on spot-kick duty, and – with form and fitness restored this summer – is a nice bet to extend that sequence on Sunday.

Dele Alli to score

Alli scored in the opening game of the season at Newcastle and missed several chances to add to his tally at Old Trafford last weekend.

A player of his quality is unlikely to squander so many opportunities again, so back him to add to the two goals he scored at Vicarage Road in January 2017.

Will Hughes to be carded

Hughes’ ball-playing ability may have grabbed the headlines, but he does more than his fair share of the dirty work.

The 23-year-old has made more tackles than any other Premier League player so far this season (15), and was booked for an overzealous one at Burnley a fortnight ago.

Eric Dier to be carded

Dier was carded at Newcastle on the opening weekend, to go with the six that he accrued last season.

With Watford’s midfield the most powerful and dynamic part of their team, him getting another is a good bet.
