Sergio Aguero to score two or more

Aguero is an obvious bet to continue his staggering form against Newcastle.

The 29-year-old has scored in four consecutive league matches against the Magpies at the Etihad Stadium, including seven in the last two.

His record of 14 goals in six home matches against non-top-six opposition is extraordinary, too. His latest haul was a hat-trick against Huddersfield a fortnight ago.

Manchester City (-4) to win

This would have landed in two of City’s last four home league matches, and is certainly worth backing here.

Newcastle have been beaten 4-0, 4-0, 5-0, 6-1 and 3-1 on their last five visits to the Etihad, while the hosts can replicate the start of last season, which saw them win by five goals in three of their first four home league matches.

Fernandinho to be carded

Given his disciplinary record last season, it is a matter of time until Fernandinho starts picking up cards again.

City’s use of the dark arts to stop opposition counter-attacks has been evident once more so far this season, so it won’t be long until the Brazilian adds to the 12 yellows he picked up last term.

Federico Fernandez to be carded

An opposition centre-back has been carded in all of City’s three matches so far, and Fernandez is the likeliest candidate to keep that sequence going.

The Argentinian was booked against Chelsea last week, and – as a result of injuries elsewhere – is the only centre-back sure to start.
