Here are five football tips Adam Drury thinks you should consider for Leicester v Newcastle on Sunday afternoon.
Half-time correct score: 0-0 draw
Newcastle are rarely the rollovers that they are expected to be away from home.
The visitors avoided defeat in 12 of their 13 away games against teams outside the Big Six last season, including a 1-0 win in this fixture. They have already won at Spurs this term.
On that basis, expect them to keep things tight in the first 45 minutes here.
Under 2.5 goals
This has landed in three of Leicester’s last four home games against teams outside the Big Six.
It had also landed in four of Newcastle’s last six away games before they were beaten 3-1 by Liverpool at Anfield last time out. Steve Bruce’s side also drew 0-0 with Brighton last week.
Over 2.5 Newcastle cards
Newcastle have picked up at least two cards in six of the last seven away matches that they have avoided defeat in.
On the basis that they will be competitive in this one, expect them to resort to the dark arts to stop Leicester’s skilful attack.
Isaac Hayden to be carded
At least one opposition central midfielder has been booked in all of Leicester’s home matches this season.
If that trend is to continue, Isaac Hayden – who ranks ninth for tackles in the Premier League – is the obvious candidate.
Over 10.5 corners
Leicester average eight corners per home league game this season.
Given that Newcastle have won five corners at Norwich and six at Tottenham away from home this season, the overall tally should tick over to at least 11.
