Over 3.5 goals –

Watford averaged 3.2 goals per game in league matches under Marco Silva last season, and that number could increase now that he is in charge of Everton.

The Portuguese takes over a stronger attack than he had at Vicarage Road, and has spent £40m on Richarlison to improve it further.

Both his Hull and Watford sides were leaky defensively, though, which should encourage a Wolves side that finished comfortably as the Championship’s top goalscorers last season.

Willy Boly to score –

A theme of Silva’s teams has been a vulnerability from set-pieces, and Wolves have just the player who can take advantage.

I fancy one of the hosts’ excellent corner takers to find the head of centre-back Boly, exactly as happened in Saturday’s friendly against Villarreal.

Richarlison to score –

The fact that the Brazilian failed to maintain his electric early-season form at Watford can largely be attributed to fatigue, having played 13 consecutive months of club football by the end of the 2017/18 season.

Having rested well and signed for an adoring manager, Everton should see the best of him.

Idrissa Gueye to be carded -

Gueye received eight Premier League yellow cards last season, including in two of his first four matches.

That’s a good bet to continue against a technically-strong Wolves side.
