Premier League acca: 4 picks from Saturday's matches
Back our 17/2 four-fold from the opening weekend in England's top division, which includes victories for Chelsea and Fulham.
Cardiff to win or draw v Bournemouth –
Bournemouth have lost their opening fixture in each of their three Premier League seasons so far.
Two of those matches were against teams that went on to be relegated, while the Cherries also lost their first four matches last year.
So Cardiff, who had the fourth-best away record in the Championship last year, represent good value to earn their first point of the season at the very least.
Fulham to beat Crystal Palace –
Fulham ended last season with the fourth-best home record in the Championship, and have gone 16 league games without a defeat at Craven Cottage.
Slavisa Jokanovic’s side have strengthened impressively this summer, bringing in Jean Michael Seri, Andre Schurrle and re-signing Aleksandar Mitrovic.
Crystal Palace were beaten 3-0 by Huddersfield in their opening game last season and managed just two victories from their six matches against promoted sides.
Chelsea to beat Huddersfield –
Chelsea finished last season strongly, with six victories and just one defeat from their final eight matches in all competitions.
The Blues won all of their matches away to the bottom six, including a 3-1 victory over Huddersfield at the John Smith’s Stadium in December, and should do so again despite a change of manager.
David Wagner’s side only won one of their last 10 league matches, and managed just one victory from 12 games against the top six.
Watford to win or draw v Brighton –
Brighton had the worst away record of any side in the division last season, drawing five and winning just two of their 19 matches on the road.
Watford started last season with just one defeat from their first eight matches, and that came against eventual champions Manchester City.
The Hornets have drawn each of their three opening games since returning to the Premier League, though, so double chance looks the way to go in this one.
