Premier League tips: Best bets for the weekend

Warren Ashurst tips three Premier League games this weekend, including Sheffield United v Everton and Arsenal v Manchester United.

With an international break looming large, every Premier League team will want a confidence-boosting win before some of their players head off with their countries.

Saturday’s early game sees a massive match at the bottom end of the table, as Sheffield United play host to Everton at Bramall Lane.

Unbeaten Tottenham head to Turf Moor to take on a Burnley team still looking for a first point, whilst Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United go toe-to-toe on Sunday afternoon.

SHEFFIELD UNITED V EVERTON

Two of the bottom-four clash in South Yorkshire, as Sheffield United and Everton look to end their pointless start to the season.

It’s not a huge surprise to see both teams struggling for goals after finding it difficult to find attacking reinforcements during the summer.

The Blades have found the net twice in their opening three Premier League games, whilst Everton are yet to score in their opening three matches.

With both managers aware of how key this game could be, it’s likely that there will be more attacking threat on Saturday (12:30 kick-off).

Paul Heckingbottom has been able to bring in Cameron Archer from Aston Villa and the 21-year-old is expected to start against the Toffees.

Archer looks like being the main attacking spearhead for the South Yorkshire club and the forward, who has six goals in 11 appearances for England Under 21s, can be backed at a good price to have 3+ shots on Saturday.

Tip: Cameron Archer 3 + shots @ 6/5

BURNLEY V TOTTENHAM

Saturday’s 3pm kick-off at Turf Moor sees Burnley face a Tottenham team who find themselves in the top three in the table at this early stage of the season.

Ange Postecoglou already seems to have won over the Spurs’ fans, playing an entertaining brand of football that has already seen them beat Manchester United and Bournemouth.

Tottenham have scored two goals in each of their opening three league games and will feel they can have success against a Burnley backline that has looked naive at times in their opening two league games, in which they have conceded six goals.

There’s no doubt who has been the star of the show for Spurs to date, with summer signing James Maddison shining in a playmaker role.

The former Leicester man has scored once and claimed two assists in the opening three league matches and could play a key part to play against the Clarets.

Maddison, who was included in the England squad named this week, is worth considering to assist a goal on Saturday.

Tip: James Maddison assist @ 2/1

ARSENAL V MANCHESTER UNITED

There have been some epic Premier League meetings between these two heavyweights in the past and Sunday’s clash could be another classic encounter.

Both teams have not been at their best in the early stages of this term, but Arsenal look more of a unit and seem to have the squad strength to mount another title challenge.

Home advantage could also be key for the Gunners, who have lost just one of their last 10 league games at the Emirates.

Mikel Arteta saw his team slip up against Fulham last weekend and will be determined to bounce back from that 2-2 draw, to make sure they go into the international break inside the top six.

United are currently eighth, with six points from their opening three games, but they have been less than convincing – struggling to narrow wins over Wolves and Nottingham Forest at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils are without a win on their last five league visits to the Emirates, with four defeats and one draw during that run.

Martin Odegaard, in the top 20 midfielders for passes this season, continues to lead by example and the Norwegian will be crucial for Arsenal’s hopes of claiming another three points.

The Gunners’ midfielder features in one of the Betway Boosts for Sunday’s 4:30 match, available to back for an assist and for Arsenal to win.

Tip: Martin Odegaard assist and Arsenal to win @ 7/2
