After an underwhelming 1-0 win over Andorra in Saturday's World Cup qualifier, England will be aiming for an improved performance when they host Senegal in a friendly on Tuesday.
England were disappointing when only recording a narrow 1-0 win over minnows Andorra in World Cup qualifying on Saturday and they round off the current international spell with a friendly against Senegal at Nottingham Forest’s City Ground home on Tuesday.
Senegal are on a 13-game unbeaten run and drew 1-1 with Republic of Ireland in a friendly in Dublin on Friday.
England v Senegal Tips
England to extend winning run
Even though the victory in Barcelona over Andorra was far from convincing, it at least extended new boss Thomas Tuchel’s winning start to three games and keeps the Three Lions firmly on course to qualify for next year’s World Cup as group winners.
Tuchel is expected to make plenty of changes for the City Ground friendly with Senegal and whoever comes in will be keen to impress.
Tuesday’s opponents should offer more attacking threat than Andorra and that should mean extra space for England to get in behind, where they will hope to take their chances en route to a seventh straight victory.
Senegal have the talent to cause Tuchel’s team problems, with Premier League stars like Nicolas Jackson and Ismaila Sarr among their attacking threats, but England should do enough again to record another win.
Leg 1: England to win @ 4/9
Lively Madueke to make impact
One of the few England players who did impress on Saturday was Noni Madueke and he can get on the scoresheet in Nottingham.
The Chelsea winger finished the club season with 11 goals for the Blues in all competitions and he will be keen to get his first senior England goal as soon as possible.
The 23-year-old provided the assist for Harry Kane’s goal early in the second half and had three shots himself, two of which were on target, and the winger will again look to provide the inspiration and thrust in the final third on Tuesday.
Leg 2: Noni Madueke to score anytime @ 19/10
Goal fest unlikely at City Ground
England were fairly toothless up front on Saturday and they are unlikely to respond with plenty of goals on Tuesday in what may well be another tight clash.
Senegal are on a very good 13-game unbeaten run but during that period they have only scored 19 goals and in eight of those 13 outings they ended up only registering one goal.
Backing three goals or fewer in total in the friendly appeals as part of the bet builder in a game that may be end up being decided by a slim margin.
Leg 3: Under 3.5 goals @ 17/40
