After a typically solid summer of recruitment, expect Brentford to get their promotion charge off to a winning start against Birmingham.

The Bees won 10 of their last 12 home games of last season, and 10 of their 12 against bottom-half sides at Griffin Park.

In League One, Rotherham’s odds just to avoid defeat at AFC Wimbledon are good.

The Millers were narrowly relegated from the Championship last season and have done well in the transfer market, while AFC Wimbledon will likely be battling to stay up this term.

Finally, two League Two promotion hopefuls should produce a decent game at Glanford Park.

Both teams scored in six of Swindon’s last eight games of last season, with Scunthorpe producing the same record in League One.

You have nothing to lose with your first £5 free bet, so may as well look at some big prices.

Stoke drew five of their last 11 games of last season 0-0, with two others finishing 1-0.

Against QPR, they should have enough to edge to victory.

In League One, I expect a functional Portsmouth side to get their season off to a functional start by seeing off Shrewsbury.
