Draw –

Seven of the last 13 Madrid derbies have ended as a draw, including both meetings last season.

Three of the last five Super Cups have gone to extra time, so a close match is likely.

Gareth Bale to score -

If Bale’s pre-season form is anything to go by, Real may not have to go into the transfer market to fill Cristiano Ronaldo’s boots.

The Welshman has scored in each of his side’s last three friendlies, with his Champions League final brace completing a run of six goals in four matches at the end of last season.

Antoine Griezmann to score -

Girezmann has scored four of Atletico’s last six goals against Real, including one at the Bernabeu in April.

The Frenchman grabbed a brace in the Europa League final that qualified Atletico for this fixture, and netted 29 times in total last term.

Over 4.5 cards

There have been a staggering 204 cards in the last 28 meetings between these two – an average of 7.2 per game – with only two of those matches passing this mark.

There were eight and five awarded in last season’s two clashes, so expect more of the same in this one.

Diego Godin to be carded -

Godin has more than played his part in that chaos, having been carded in 10 of his last 15 matches against Real Madrid.

If this is as feisty as expected, he is bound to be involved.
