Serge Gnabry (Bayern Munich) to score v AEK Athens

Bar a cup game against fourth-tier opposition, Gnabry has formed part of Bayern’s attack in their last last four matches, so looks a nice bet to score in what should be a comfortable win.

The former Arsenal forward hit the net in his side’s 1-1 draw with Freiburg on Saturday, and comes up against a defence that is leaky at European level.

AEK Athens have conceded eight goals in three matches in this competition, including twice in the reverse fixture against Bayern a fortnight ago.

Cristiano Ronaldo (Juventus) to score v Manchester United

It is surely a matter of time until Ronaldo opens his Champions League account for the season.

The Portuguese has scored four goals in his last five matches, and still deserves credit for scoring in every one of Real Madrid’s group stage games last term.

He tops the xG and shot count in Serie A this season, and can reproduce that form in the Champions League against Manchester United, who are without a clean sheet in five and were lucky to only concede once at Bournemouth on Saturday.

Memphis Depay (Lyon) to score v Hoffenheim

This game finished 3-3 a fortnight ago, and a similarly open game should result in plenty of chances for Depay to extend his good run in front of goal.

The Dutch attacker has scored three goals in four Lyon appearances since the most recent international break, including in the aforementioned reverse fixture, and ranks fourth for shots on goal in Ligue 1 this term.

Hoffenheim are without a clean sheet all season away from home, and have conceded at least twice in every European match.

Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid) to score v Viktoria Plzen

All of Real Madrid’s key attackers are too short to back in this one, but established penalty-taker Ramos certainly holds some value.

The Madrid skipper has netted four goals at club level this season, all from the penalty spot, but is also a significant threat from set-pieces. Impressively, he ranks 12^th for xG of all La Liga players.

Viktoria Plzen have conceded nine goals in three Champions League matches this season, including a penalty at home to CSKA Moscow in Matchday 1.
