Here are Will Rook's football betting tips for Leeds v Middlesbrough.
Both teams to score
Marcelo Bielsa’s early tenure at Leeds has delivered a thrilling style of football and 14 goals in their opening five league games – four more than any other Championship side.
United’s high pressing has occasionally left gaps at the back and saw them concede twice at home to Preston in the EFL Cup in midweek, while they have kept just two clean sheets in seven matches in all competitions.
Middlesbrough haven’t failed to find the net in any of their matches so far this term, so this fixture promises goals at both ends.
Kemar Roofe to score
Roofe has secured his place as Leeds’ starting striker over Patrick Bamford with four goals in his last four league appearances.
With support from Pablo Hernandez and Ezgjan Alioski, both of whom have supplied two assists each, he won’t be short of chances to add a fifth.
Aden Flint to score
Middlesbrough will have to spend large periods without the ball on Friday, meaning they are unlikely create much open play.
But their direct style lends itself well to set pieces and has already seen three defenders, including the 6ft-5in Flint, score.
Over 3.5 bookings
Leeds have committed 66 fouls already this season – 20 more than any other team in the Championship.
Middlesbrough, meanwhile, have been issued with seven yellows from just 12 fouls and it would be no surprise to see mistimed tackles against their energetic opponents.
Gaetano Berardi to be carded
Berardi was issued with five yellow and three red cards in 33 appearances last season, with his final dismissal resulting in a five-match ban.
The Swiss defender was also booked in Leeds’ 3-0 win at Norwich last weekend and remains a top candidate for the referee’s book.
