Don't Speculate: 5 EFL football tips for Saturday's matches
Back our 33/1 five-fold accumulator, which features football tips from the latest round of fixtures in League One and League Two.
Had you placed a £10 stake on Will Rook's EFL football betting tips for the 2018/19 season, your profit would be:
Coventry to beat Oxford
Oxford’s scrappy 1-0 win over fellow relegation candidates Bradford last weekend has done little to persuade me they have improved.
The U’s have won just one of their last 12 away games in all competitions and have picked up just one point from their last two on the road against strugglers Rochdale and Gillingham.
Coventry notched their fifth victory in league games last weekend, beating play-off rivals Peterborough 2-1, and are a great price to continue their form.
Luton to beat Doncaster
Luton’s recent drop in performance levels has resulted in draws against Plymouth and Gillingham in their last two but, at close to evens, they have to be backed at home.
The Hatters are on a club record 25-match unbeaten run in the league and have the best home record in the division, having won 14 and drawn five games at Kenilworth Road.
Doncaster have lost to relegation-threatened Wycombe, Shrewsbury and Wimbledon in a six-match winless run away from home, so won’t stand in the league leaders’ way.
Tranmere to beat Colchester
This is my best value bet of the week across all our content.
Tranmere have dropped just two points in their last seven matches and earned their fifth straight victory last Tuesday as they beat Grimsby 4-1 at home.
That result has left the Superwhites in fifth place in League Two, five points behind the automatic promotion spots with a game in hand, and equal-top of the form table.
They are a fantastic price to beat play-off chasers Colchester, who have lost three of their last four league games and won just one in six.
Bury to beat Grimsby
Second-placed Bury are level with Tranmere at the top of the League Two form table, having won five of their last six league games.
The Shakers are unbeaten in 13 league games and are the only side in the top four divisions yet to lose in the calendar year.
They are the top scorers in the division with 71 goals and should coast past a Grimsby side that has conceded eight goals in their last four games and is winless in five.
MK Dons to beat Yeovil
Yeovil have lost back-to-back games against fellow strugglers Port Vale and Macclesfield and there doesn’t look to be much hope for them here.
The Glovers have lost six straight away games, scoring just one goal in that sequence.
MK Dons have won 10 of their last 14 league matches at Stadium MK, netting two or more on eight separate occasions.
They also boast the in-form strike partnership Kieran Agard and Chuks Aneke, which has netted at least once in each of their last eight matches and should pull them through.
