Five-Fold Accumulator: Quintet of draws could produce huge return

Late season stalemates are worth backing in the Premier League this weekend

The battle at the bottom of the Premier League is an absorbing one with two weeks left of the season. With plenty of draws on the cards this weekend, it might not change too much heading into the final foray. Stalemates often provide the best odds and we could be set for a huge payout with five draws this weekend.

Aston Villa are not safe from the threat of relegation just yet but they are not far from securing their Premier League future. They travel to Southampton on Saturday knowing that a draw would probably be enough to ensure survival.

The Saints have not been great of late, losing to Sunderland and Leicester in the last two weeks, but they are still a strong side and Villa will struggle to beat them at St Mary’s despite their recent good form.

The Saints have not been great of late, losing to Sunderland and Leicester in the last two weeks but they are still a strong side and Villa will struggle to beat them at St Mary’s despite their recent good form. The last two meetings between the two sides have ended level and this could easily happen again. It certainly looks good value at 12/5 given that neither side are desperate for victory and Villa will have one eye on the FA Cup final.

Southampton v Aston Villa – Draw @ 12/5

Burnley have already suffered the ignominy of relegation, but at least they went down fighting, winning away at Hull last week. Their Premier League return has been far from a disgrace, despite heading back to the Championship immediately. Stoke have been decent all season and look set for a top half finish but are inconsistent, as two wins, two draws and two losses from their last six suggest. Neither side has much to play for here. Burnley are at home and will want to give their fans a good send off in the Premier League, but Stoke are the better side. A draw looks very feasible at 9/4.

Burnley v Stoke – Draw @ 9/4

QPR are the other side already relegated but the side they host on Saturday, Newcastle, are yet to discover their fate. The Magpies have lost eight of their last nine, only breaking that cycle with a draw at home to West Brom last weekend. Both these teams are terrible, it is very difficult to argue anything other than that. Newcastle need the three points much more but they look wholly incapable of picking them up at the moment. Neither squad has an iota of confidence and this could well drift into a turgid stalemate. The draw, again looks tempting at 12/5.

QPR v Newcastle – Draw @ 12/5

Sunderland against Leicester is a clash between two teams that have found form at the perfect time. The Foxes have won six of their last seven games whilst the Black Cats have triumphed in three of their last five. These runs of form look to have saved them from the drop to the Championship. It is tough to separate the two now that they both have momentum behind them and the fact that a draw would probably suit both sides. Sunderland have drawn 15 games this season, more than any other side, and they will look good to do so again this weekend at 9/4, especially as that was the result last time these sides met.

Sunderland v Leicester – Draw @ 9/4

Finally, the team that needs points more than any other this weekend is Hull, but they face a tricky trip to White Hart Lane to play Tottenham. The Tigers have been dragged into the drop zone at exactly the wrong time of the season after their defeat to Burnley last weekend, and their fate may now be sealed. Spurs have not been great of late, losing their previous two games without scoring a goal, which is why they may not beat Hull this weekend, but they should not lose at home to the strugglers. Three of the last five games between the sides have ended level and the other two were only won by Spurs by the odd goal. Hull have the motivation for this one and will pick up another draw at11/4.

Spurs v Hull – Draw @ 11/4

A £10 acca on Aston Villa v Southampton, Burnley v Stoke, QPR v Newcastle, Sunderland v Leicester & Spurs v Hull to end as draws pays approx £4578
