Thursday Betting Guide: Our writers' 5 best football tips
We've compiled our best football tips, including win/draw/win and BTTS, into one bite-size betting preview for Thursday's Europa League matches.
CFR Cluj to beat Rennes (17:55)
Cluj have won 10 of their last 13 home games, including the last three in a row by an aggregate score of 8-0.
That run also includes European victories against Astana, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Lazio.
Rennes have lost three and drawn two of their last five away games, including defeat to Lazio in this competition.
Over 2.5 goals in Basel v Getafe (17:55)
This bet has landed in 19 of Basel’s 23 matches this season.
That run includes nine of their last 10 home games, including all three of their European matches.
There have also been at least three goals in three of Getafe’s last five away matches, including away at Krasnodar in October.
Lazio to beat Celtic & Ciro Immobile to score (17:55)
Lazio conceded an 89th-minute goal to lose 2-1 at Parkhead two weeks ago, but have responded with three straight victories in Serie A.
The Biancocelesti are unbeaten at the Stadio Olimpico this season, while Celtic have won just one of their last 10 European away games excluding qualifiers.
Immobile has bagged 14 goals in 13 appearances for the Italians, including seven in his last five, so looks a good bet to score at least one.
Frankfurt to beat Standard Liege & BTTS (17:55)
Frankfurt come into this game off the back of a 5-1 home win over Bayern Munich.
That was their sixth victory in eight matches and the seventh time that BTTS has landed in their last nine.
The German side won the reverse fixture 2-1 in their most-recent group game and are a good price for a repeat, given Liege have only won two of their last eight in all competitions.
BTTS in Oleksandria v Saint-Etienne (20:00)
BTTS landed after just 14 minutes of this reverse fixture two weeks ago.
That result maintained both sides’ 100 per cent BTTS record in the Europa League after three games.
At evens, they are definitely worth backing to make it four from four.
