Europa League tips: A 31/1 acca for the Thursday’s Last-16 games

Alex Jack's accumulator for Thursday's matches include all four games involving British sides.

Action from the Europa League continues on Thursday night with teams from across the continent battling it out to reach the quarter-finals.

Alex Jack has taken a closer look over the seven last-16 first-leg games taking place on Thursday to provide a four-fold accumulator, which includes all four British teams left in the competition.

Best Bets

Roma to beat Brighton /
Liverpool to beat Sparta Prague /
Benfica to beat Rangers & both teams to score /
West Ham to beat Freiburg /

Accumulator odds – 32.51/1

Roma vs Brighton (17:45)

Starting in the Eternal City, Roma should be confident of adding to Brighton’s recent woes when Roberto De Zeri’s side head to the Stadio Olimpico.

The Seagulls are on a tough run of form at present, with just one win in their last five games in all competitions.

Heading to Roma on the back of a 3-0 defeat at Fulham in their last game, Brighton might well struggle against a Giallorossi side that have won all of their last four outings in all competitions.

Sparta Prague vs Liverpool  (17:45)

On the back of a thrilling last-gasp win over Nottingham Forest, Premier League frontrunners Liverpool next head to the Czech capital to face Sparta Prague.

Jurgen Klopp’s side are in red-hot form at present, with eight wins in their last nine games in all competitions.

Sparta have also been in strong form and the epet ARENA will not be an easy place to win at for Liverpool.

However, the Merseyside outfit have momentum and the European experience to go to places like Prague and grind out a result.

Siding with Roma and Liverpool forms the first half of this Thursday’s accumulator.

Benfica vs Rangers (20:00)

Unbeaten in their last four games in the Europa League, Rangers are again showing their liking for this competition, as they prepare for a tough trip to Benfica.

The Portuguese giants have had a wobble of late, with back-to-back away defeats to rivals Sporting Lisbon and Porto in their last two matches.

However, in their last 15 games in all competitions at home, Benfica have only been beaten once and that was in a penalty shootout.

Rangers have the Europa League experience to cause Benfica problems, with the Old Firm outfit scoring in seven of their last eight games in the competition.

Back the Light Blues to get on the scoresheet but Benfica should have the quality to edge this one on at the Estadio da Luz.

Freiburg vs West Ham (20:00)

Last season’s Europa Conference League winners West Ham were on an eight-game winless run in all competitions but look to have turned a corner in recent weeks.

Securing back-to-back wins over Brentford and Everton, the Hammers seem to be on the up and next face a Freiburg side they beat home and away in the group stage of the Europa League already this term.

Given they have recent experience of beating the Bundesliga outfit at Europa-Park Stadion, West Ham look capable of taking a lead back to the London Stadium for the second leg.
