Champions League tips: Best bets for Sevilla v Arsenal

Rob Eddy's best bets for Arsenal's trip to Spain on Tuesday night include a win for the Gunners with their star man finding the net.

Arsenal slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Lens in their last Champions League fixture and sit second in Group B, one point behind the French outfit.

Sevilla have two points from their two games so far and have become a tough side to beat after losing their first three La Liga games of the campaign.

The Spanish outfit have lost just one of their last eight across all competitions but have only won two themselves, and they need to find a way to turn the draws into wins if they are to emerge from this competitive Champions League group.

Gunners may need multiple goals to win

Sevilla may have found a way to steady the ship recently after a rocky start and they impressed at the weekend by holding Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw at this venue, but Arsenal can still raid the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan successfully.

Los Nervionenses have dominated the Europa League in recent years but have found the Champions League a far tougher prospect and have lost five of their last eight home games in this competition, discounting qualifiers.

The Gunners crushed PSV Eindhoven 4-0 in their group-stage opener before losing to Lens – and they were unfortunate not to at least take a point in that game.

Mikel Arteta’s men started poorly against Chelsea at the weekend but hit their stride in the second half and if they can build on that performance in Spain they should be expected to get the better of their hosts.

Sevilla can at least grab a consolation effort, however, as they have yet to draw a blank at home this season in any competition and have hit 12 goals in total across their seven games – although five of those did come in one game against lowly Almeria.

Arsenal have shipped four goals in their last two away games, having started the season with four consecutive clean sheets on the road, so defensive lapses have crept in and backing the North Londoners to win a game in which both teams score looks a good option for this European encounter.

Saka the danger man in Europe

An anytime strike from Arsenal and England forward Bukayo Saka also appeals here as he has been exceptional in Europe and is coming into the game on the back of a strong performance.

Saka had a goal and an assist in the 4-0 win over PSV and also provided an assist in the defeat to Lens. The 22-year-old was probably Arsenal’s best player against Chelsea and he grabbed an assist at Stamford Bridge after returning from a brief injury absence, and he can get back among the goals after scoring in three of his four appearances before being forced to sit out in the win over Manchester City.

Best bets

Arsenal to win & both teams to score @ 5/2

Bukayo Saka to score anytime @ 2/1
