Ajax to beat Benfica

Ajax are top of Group E, above Bayern Munich, after two matches.

The Dutch side came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw at Bayern on Matchday 2 and are currently on a six-game winning streak in all competitions at the Johan Cruyff Arena.

Benfica beat AEK Athens 3-2 last time out, having earlier surrendered a two-goal lead. That, however, is their only win in their last 10 Champions League group stage matches.

Juventus to beat Manchester United

It should be a happy return to Old Trafford for Cristiano Ronaldo, whose side are unbeaten in all competitions this season.

The Old Lady had won all 10 of their matches prior to their 1-1 draw with Genoa on Saturday.

Manchester United played out a 0-0 draw at home to Valencia – who Juventus beat 2-0 with 10 men at the Mestalla – last time out in the Champions League and have won just one of their last six games in all competitions.

Roma to beat CSKA Moscow

Roma’s impressive home form in the Champions League means they are worth a bet this week, despite losing 2-0 to SPAL on Sunday.

The Giallorossi have won six straight home games in Europe, including victories over Chelsea, Barcelona and Liverpool, and had won four on the spin prior to their defeat at the weekend.

CSKA have lost two of their last three domestic games and had to rely on a stoppage-time penalty to nick a draw away to Viktoria Plzen in their only away game of the tournament so far.

Manchester City to beat Shakhtar

Manchester City earned a 2-1 win away to Hoffenheim in their last group game despite not being at their best.

City have won eight and drawn two of their last 10 away games in all competitions and should take advantage of Shakhtar’s slow start in the Champions League.

The Ukrainian side have just two points from their opening two matches and twice had to come from behind against Hoffenheim in their only home game so far.
