Manchester City to beat Hoffenheim (17:55)

Manchester City lost to Lyon in their opening group game, but shouldn’t make the same mistake twice.

Pep Guardiola’s side won five group matches out of six last season and have responded to that defeat with three straight victories in all competitions.

Hoffenheim claimed an impressive point away to Shakhtar two weeks ago, but lost 2-1 at home to Leipzig at the weekend and have won just one in five.

Juventus (-2) to beat Young Boys (17:55)

Young Boys were beaten 3-0 at home to an underperforming Manchester United side on Matchday 1.

It’s unlikely to get any better for the Swiss side, who have lost six of their last seven away games in the Champions League – with three of those defeats coming by a margin of three of more goals.

That should mean that, despite missing Cristiano Ronaldo with suspension, Juventus can make it nine wins from nine in all competitions.

Lyon to beat Shakhtar (20:00)

Shakhtar managed to rescue a point having twice gone behind at home to Hoffenheim on Matchday 1, but will struggle to take anything from this one.

The Ukrainian side have lost seven of their last eight away games in the competition, with their only victory in that period coming at already-eliminated Feyenoord last season.

Lyon have won eight of their last 10 matches in all competitions at the Groupama Stadium and should extend their 100 per cent record, having won 2-1 at Manchester City a fortnight ago.

Roma to win to nil v Viktoria Plzen (20:00)

Roma have finally got their season up and running with back-to-back victories over Frosinone and Lazio in Serie A.

Eusebio Di Francesco’s side have conceded just one goal in that sequence, so should ease past Plzen.

The Czech side have lost back-to-back away games in their domestic league by an aggregate score of 7-0.
