Here are Adam Drury's cricket betting tips for the IPL opener between the Chennai Super Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore, which starts at 14:30 GMT on Saturday.
Chennai Super Kings to win
RCB typically make slow starts to this competition, and a match against the defending champions is unlikely to help them improve that record.
Virat Kohli’s side have been comfortably beaten in their last two opening matches of the IPL, and they take on a side that won five of their first six matches of last year’s competition.
MS Dhoni to score over 19.5 runs
Dhoni compiled his second-biggest IPL runs tally a year ago, and he is in good enough form to impress again in this one.
He has passed this mark in six of his last eight international innings and in four of India’s five T20s against Australia in February.
Shrimron Hetmyer to score over 16.5 runs
Despite failing to regularly score heavily, Hetmyer looked impressive in the Windies’ recent red- and white-ball series with England, and he can carry that form into the IPL.
The 22-year-old was the third top-scorer in the Caribbean Premier League last summer, the only other franchise T20 tournament that he has been involved in, and 16.5 looks a low mark for him to pass here.
