England v India first Test betting tips and predictions 04 08 21

These cricket tips can help form your #BetYourWay as England meet India in the first Test at Trent Bridge, starting on Wednesday.

Here are four cricket betting tips that Guy Giles thinks you should consider for the first Test between England and India at Trent Bridge on Wednesday.

India to win

India are struggling with some injury problems ahead of this five-match series, but still have more than enough quality to beat an unsettled England side in this first Test.

The hosts’ batting lineup has passed 300 just twice in their last six Tests, with the top order looking particularly susceptible.

England have also won just one of their last four Test matches at Trent Bridge, so this looks like great value on India going one up.

Rory Burns to score over 25.5 runs in the first innings

Burns looked in good form for England during their only previous home series this summer as they lost to eventual World Test Championship winners New Zealand.

The opener passed this mark in both first innings, registering one century and one half-century while reaching 25 in one of his other efforts.

KL Rahul to be India’s top batsman in the first innings

Rahul hit a century in India’s warm up match against a County XI, with no other player reaching three figures for the visitors.

That was a continuation of his form in the IPL, with Rahul passing 50 in four of his seven matches before the tournament was cut short.

James Anderson to be England’s top bowler in the first innings

Anderson managed just three wickets across two matches against New Zealand earlier in the summer, but took eight wickets in his most recent first-class appearance for Lancashire.

England’s record wicket-taker tends to dominate in the first innings at Trent Bridge, taking at least three wickets in his last four Tests in Nottingham.
