That explains some of the Leaf rage in these parts this spring. It\u2019s like compound interest. Every spring that rage gets worse.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">There was a respite last Tuesday, when the Leafs scored the No. 1 overall pick in the NHL Draft Lottery.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">That was eclipsed by news stories the past news days that their captain, Auston Matthews, isn\u2019t sure he wants to stick around for what more and more looks like a rebuild.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">Then, for Leafs fans, there was Friday night, watching Mitch Marner of the Vegas Golden Knights score a hat trick in a 6-2 win in Game 3 of their second round Western Conference series against the Anaheim Ducks.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">Marner starred ten years for the Leafs, a 100-point winger who built a reputation for not showing up in playoff games, when the pressure ramped up.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">Tired of playing in the cauldron that is hockey-mad Toronto, he bolted for Vegas as a free agent last summer.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">Now he\u2019s taking a flame thrower to that playoff reputation, under Golden Knights head coach John Tortorella.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">And Leafs fans dread the image of Marner skating around the T-Mobile ice hoisting the Stanley Cup for the Golden Knights.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\"><strong>BEST BETS<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\"><strong>Buffalo Sabres at Montreal Canadiens, 7 p.m., Bell Centre, Montreal<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\"><strong>Series tied 1-1<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">In <\/mark><a target=\"_blank\" class=\"editor-link\" href=\"https:\/\/betway.com\/g\/en\/sports\/grp\/ice-hockey\/north-america\/nhl\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\"><u>NHL betting<\/u><\/mark><\/a><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">, on Betway, the Canadiens are favourites at -120, the Sabres are +100. Montreal goalie Jakub Dobes also bounced back after a leaky Game 1, making 29 saves, with a .967 GAA.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\"><strong>Buffalo Sabres Moneyline +100<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">Playoff hockey is back in Montreal, which is a special thing. <\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">The Sabres looked flat Friday, but they are a strong road team \u2013 three straight road wins in the opening round series against Boston to close them out (five road wins in a row now). They\u2019ve looked comfortable in hostile environments, play noticeable tighter when protecting leads, or on the penalty kill.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">And don\u2019t sleep on Carrick\u2019s return \u2013 he fills a bunch of needs, notably faceoffs, penalty killing, playoff grit and physicality. He\u2019s Buffalo\u2019s faceoff specialist. Carrick stabilized the Sabres\u2019 bottom six after the Sabres brought him over from the Rangers in a deadline deal.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">I\u2019ve liked goalie Alex Lyon\u2019s play so far during these playoffs \u2013 4-2, 1.73 GAA, .934 SV% overall.<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">Prop: Nick Suzuki Over 2.5 Shots (+110)<\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\"><strong>BEST BETS<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\"><strong>Vegas Golden Knights at Anaheim Ducks, 9:30 p.m., Honda Center, Anaheim<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\"><strong>Vegas leads series 2-1<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\"><strong>Under 6.5 goals<\/strong><\/mark><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: start;\"><mark class=\"pen\" style=\"color: rgb(21, 21, 22);\">The Golden Knights are -115, the Ducks are -105.
