With money back as a free bet if your horse finishes second on all ITV races, our tipster makes his picks for the third day at Glorious Goodwood.
14:25 Goodwood – Tasman Bay (each-way)
It’s not rocket science to work out that Baaeed is going to take an awful lot of beating here. But he’s way odds-on, there are two other places up for grabs and there is one runner who looks good value at this time.
Tasman Bay finished second on his last two starts and they were both in strong races. They were respectively in the Betway Fairway Stakes behind John Leeper and at Royal Ascot. This horse travels well and should cope with the undulations of Goodwood, too.
15:35 Goodwood – Liberty Beach (each-way)
It will be a fantastic achievement if Battaash is to win this race for a record-breaking fifth time in a row, but at the age of seven he is opposable. But make no mistake, he’s still the one to beat.
At a bigger price, Liberty Beach is one worth keeping on side. She is a very fast filly, who is a course-and-distance winner here and she wasn’t beaten far in the King’s Stand at Royal Ascot. She’s only four and is still improving. I expect her to go well under Jason Hart.
17:20 Goodwood – Tribal Art (each-way)
Mark Johnston got off the mark at Glorious Goodwood yesterday and I expect Tribal Art could give him another victory in the final race. He was disappointing in a novice race at Nottingham last time out, but it all happened quite quickly and he’s going up in trip by 3f, which should suit him very well.
I was impressed with the way he stuck on to win at Ayr earlier in the season and although this race is wide-open and competitive, I do think he’ll be taking some of the prize money back to Scotland.
4 To Win selections
13:50 Goodwood – Smart Champion
Ran well in this race last year and has improved since. Sneaks in at the bottom with a talented rider on board.
15:00 Goodwood – Path Of Thunder
Bolted up at Newmarket last time out. Looks to still be improving and is at the right end of the handicap.
16:10 Goodwood – Without A Fight
Done little wrong in his career and is still improving. Second on penultimate start behind Al Aasy showed very good form.
17:30 Galway – Jazzaway
Good winner at Punchestown last time out and has seemingly been kept for this.
