The Betway ambassador previews his three runners on the second day of Glorious Goodwood, as well as three at Sandown.
Teumessais Fox (13:50 Goodwood) has been very consistent, and he will stay further in time. He’s shown that he can be effective on these conditions, so I hope he’ll be competitive, albeit against what looks like some well handicapped horses.
Bounce The Blues (14:25 Goodwood) loves soft ground, so we’ll make a late call on that. She’s in great form at home but just might not get her ideal conditions. She’s a good mare on her day.
Alcohol Free (15:35 Goodwood) seems in great form. She won the race last year but it’s just a tough ask against Baaeed. She was obviously very good in the July Cup and bids to do something not many horses have. If she settles well early on, she could give Baaeed a run for his money.
Grenham Bay (18:50 Sandown) is a lovely horse. He’s a bit raw but he’s got natural ability and will come on for the run.
Mercurius Power (19:25 Sandown) won over course and distance last time. Callum Hutchinson takes the ride, and they should be there or thereabouts.
Follow That Star (20:00 Sandown) has been disappointing since her second to Emily Upjohn at Sandown earlier in the season. She does look fairly treated and it looks a good opportunity for her.
