Who is your club’s Premier League bogeyman?

Every team has that one opponent who can't stop scoring against them. We reveal the identity of every Premier League club's bogeyman.

Arsenal – Wayne Rooney

Rooney has scored 12 times in 29 matches against Arsenal in the Premier League.

His record is likely to be broken soon by Harry Kane, who has netted 10 goals in 10 league appearances against the Gunners.

Aston Villa – Wayne Rooney and Frank Lampard

Rooney makes another appearance on this list having scored 13 goals in 26 appearances against Aston Villa.

He does, however, share the spoils with Lampard, who notched 13 in 33 matches against the Villans.

Bournemouth – Raheem Sterling

Sterling has terrorised Bournemouth during their five seasons in the Premier League, scoring nine goals in eight games against them.

The Manchester City winger only failed to score in one of those eight games, with one hat-trick.

Brighton – Sergio Aguero

Aguero loves playing against the Seagulls, having netted five times in just four meetings.

He found the net in all four of those appearances, and registered a double in their only meeting so far in the 2019/20 season.

Burnley – Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane

Aubameyang has scored seven goals in just five matches against Burnley, including a brace in three of those.

Kane has also notched seven against the Clarets, with his coming across eight appearances.

Chelsea – Sergio Aguero

Despite failing to score in eight of his 14 league appearances against Chelsea, Aguero has still managed to become their Premier League bogeyman.

He has 10 goals against them, including two hat-tricks.

Crystal Palace – Jermain Defoe

It is only right that Defoe appears on this list somewhere, and nine goals in 11 appearances against Palace ensures he does.

His record against the Eagles includes doubles in three consecutive meetings.

Everton – Alan Shearer and Les Ferdinand

Shearer and Ferdinand, two of the Premier League’s greatest goalscorers, both notched 16 goals against the Toffees.

Ferdinand managed his in 21 matches, while Shearer needed an extra 90 minutes to reach that number.

Leicester – Harry Kane

Kane has plundered 12 goals in nine Premier League meetings with Leicester, including two hat-tricks.

The Tottenham striker has scored five more Premier League goals than any other player against the Foxes, with Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole both managing seven.

Liverpool – Andy Cole

Cole loved a goal against Liverpool, racking up 11 in just 20 meetings across his years at Newcastle and Manchester United.

That haul included a hat-trick in his first match against the Reds in 1993/94.

Manchester City – Alan Shearer

Shearer scored 11 goals in 17 appearances against City in the Premier League.

He found the net in 10 of those 17 matches, and scored in six consecutive meetings with City between 1993/94 and 1995/96.

Manchester United – Alan Shearer

Shearer simply loved scoring against Manchester sides, with his 10 goals in 25 appearances against United enough to be their Premier League bogeyman.

Aguero is closing in, though, with eight goals in just 13 matches against the Red Devils.

Newcastle United – Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney

Despite Michael Owen’s great record against the Magpies  he scored 13 goals in just 10 meetings  it is Aguero and Rooney who are their Premier League bogeymen with 15 each.

Aguero’s goals have, quite incredibly, come in just 13 matches, while Rooney took 24 to reach that number.

Norwich Luis Suarez

No player has scored more goals in their first six Premier League matches against one club than Suarez against Norwich.

His 12 goals in six appearances included three hat-tricks – one a four-goal haul – and a stunner from the halfway line.

Sheffield United – Kevin Campbell, Teddy Sheringham, Mark Hughes, Wayne Rooney, Robbie Fowler, Tony Cottee and Yakubu

The Blades’ limited time in the Premier League means there is not one player who has stood out against them.

Instead, these seven players have all managed three against United, with Campbell, Rooney and Yakubu doing so in just two matches.

Southampton – Alan Shearer

Shearer haunted his former club with 14 goals in just 22 matches in the Premier League.

His haul against the Saints included four doubles.

Tottenham – Alan Shearer

Shearer makes his fifth and final appearance on this list having scored 14 goals in 24 matches against Tottenham.

Aguero is lurking close behind with an impressive 11 goals in 16 meetings with Spurs.

Watford – Mohamed Salah and Sergio Aguero

Both Salah and Aguero have netted eight goals against the Hornets.

Salah managed his eight in just six matches, including one four-goal haul, while Aguero’s eight have come in seven appearances with one hat-trick.

West Ham – Wayne Rooney

Rooney matches Shearer with his fifth appearances on this list, having scored 14 goals in 20 matches against West Ham.

He netted two hat-tricks against the Hammers, one for Manchester United and one for Everton.

Wolves – Robbie Keane

Keane broke through at Wolves, but he also loved a goal against them.

He scored six goals in just five Premier League appearances against his former club, including a hat-trick for Tottenham in 2003/04.
