We review the betting data from this weekend's football, including the biggest underdogs, most-backed team and longest-priced goalscorer.
Norwich recorded the biggest upset of the weekend, beating Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park at a pre-match average price of 7.59 (13/2).
The most-backed team of the weekend were Manchester City. More customers fancied Pep Guardiola’s side than any other, at an average price of 1.41 (2/5), and were rewarded with a 2-1 victory over Chelsea.
Thirty-three people were still alive in 4 To Score after Sadio Mane and Ayoze Perez scored first for Liverpool and Leicester, but none of them had picked N’Golo Kante to open the scoring at the Etihad Stadium.
That goal was the longest-priced first goalscorer of the weekend, though, with one customer backing the Frenchman to net first at 28/1.
The biggest successful in-play bet came in the lunchtime kick-off at the London Stadium. One customer punted on Tottenham to win the match 3-2 at 33/1 after it had kicked off.
How our tips got on
Our win/draw/win tips were mixed on Saturday. Rotherham beat MK Dons at 10/11 and Wycombe overcame Doncaster at 13/10, but the others fell short.
Sunderland not to beat Coventry at 17/20 was also a winner, but there was little else to shout about.
On Sunday, Marseille’s late win over Toulouse (6/5) went some way to making up for Hull being held 2-2 at Middlesbrough and Hoffenheim suffering a shock 5-1 defeat to Mainz.
BTTS landed in Bologna v Parma at 8/11 and PSV v Heerenveen at 13/20.
Bologna not to beat Parma was also a winner at 1/1, but there was no luck with the anytime goalscorers.
