Weekend football betting review 23 09 19

We review the betting data from this weekend's football, including the biggest underdogs, most-backed team and longest-priced goalscorer.

Sheffield United caused the biggest upset of the Premier League weekend.

Chris Wilder’s side were an average price of 5.44 (9/2) to beat Everton, but won 2-0.

Liverpool were comfortably the most-backed team of the weekend. More customers backed Jurgen Klopp’s side at Stamford Bridge at 2.05 (21/20) than any other and were rewarded with a 2-1 victory.

The longest-winning in-play bet came in West Ham’s victory against Manchester United. One punter backed Aaron Cresswell to be the second goalscorer in the game at 66/1.

Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold was the longest-priced first goalscorer to be successfully backed by a Betway customer. One punter backed the full-back to score first at 20/1.

The longest-winning accumulator of the weekend featured teams from the EFL, with one customer backing Doncaster, Fleetwood, Oxford, Southend, Tranmere and Wycombe all to win at over 500/1.

How our tips got on

Saturday’s tips got off to a good start, as all three of our EFL win/draw/win picks landed.

Bristol Rovers beat AFC Wimbledon (6/4), Ipswich beat Gillingham (5/4) and Crewe to beat Salford (19/20) to kick off our weekend in profit.

Things weren’t quite so successful where BTTS didn’t land in RB Leipzig’s win over Werder Bremen, and nor could Atletico Madrid beat Celta Vigo to nil.

BTTS was a winner in Millwall v QPR (13/20), while our other successful tips was Everton not to beat Sheffield United at 6/5.

We landed our longest winner of the weekend on Sunday, as Liverpool beat Chelsea with BTTS (12/5).

Our other two win/draw/win tips fell short, but both teams did score in Arsenal v Aston Villa (13/20) and Eintracht Frankfurt v Borussia Dortmund (19/40).

Crystal Palace to win or draw & under 3.5 goals v Wolves was an easy winner at 4/5, while Neymar’s late goal for PSG (23/20) rounded off a profitable day nicely.
