We review the betting data from this weekend's football, including the biggest underdogs, most-backed team and longest-priced goalscorer.
As a result of our ‘First Goal Wins’ offer being active for the game, Leicester and Chelsea were the two most-backed teams in the Premier League this weekend.
More punters backed the Foxes than any other side, but Chelsea punters were rewarded. Though the game ended in a 2-2 draw, Antonio Rudiger’s opener ensured that they were paid out.
That goal was also good news for the three customers who backed Rudiger to score first at 33/1.
Remarkably, though, they were outshone by the one punter who backed Rudiger to score twice in the match at 250/1.
Rudiger also came up trumps for the only 4 To Score player who went into Sunday with a chance of winning the £75k jackpot. That player also selected ‘no goalscorer’ in Manchester United v Wolves, but didn’t progress any further.
Elsewhere, Tottenham caused the biggest upset of the Premier League weekend by beating Manchester City at 5.66 (longer than 9/2).
The longest winning in-play bet came in West Ham v Brighton. One person backed the match to finish 3-3 after it had kicked off.
How our tips got on
Our Saturday tips were a success, as we landed six out of 10 winners, four of which were at odds-against.
Oxford (19/20 to beat Blackpool), Crawley (11/8 to beat Scunthorpe) and Northampton (11/10 to beat Macclesfield) all did the business in the win/draw/win markets.
Southend v Lincoln (4/6) was a BTTS winner, while Hoffenheim’s Andrej Kramaric (2/1) and Crawley’s Ollie Palmer (17/10) both scored.
Our Sunday tips were also profitable.
Willem II beating Heracles (19/20) got us off to a good start, but Atalanta and Marseille were held to frustrating draws later in the day.
Nice v Lyon (13/20) and Villarreal v Osasuna (4/6) were both BTTS winners, while AC Milan not to beat Hellas Verona (6/5) also landed.
A late goal for Celtic’s James Forrest (7/4 to net v Hamilton) rounded things off nicely.
