We review the betting data from this weekend's football, including the biggest underdogs, longest-winning in-play bet and longest-priced goalscorer.
🐝 Watford fan @Adam_Drury1 has done well to keep a straight face while running through this weekend’s biggest bets.
— betway (@betway) March 2, 2020All of the teams that started the weekend in the relegation zone won on Friday and Saturday, but none were more surprising than Watford’s victory over previously-unbeaten Liverpool at Vicarage Road.
The Hornets claimed the biggest upset of the weekend, beating the league leaders 3-0 at just short of 6/1.
In the same game, Ismaila Sarr became the longest-priced first goalscorer of the weekend, netting the opener at 11/1.
Just 0.7 per cent of 4 To Score customers selected Sarr, and none of them went on to win the jackpot on Sunday.
The longest winning in-play bet also landed in the game at Vicarage Road. The Hornets were successfully backed to win 3-0 at 80/1 after the game had kicked off.
How our tips got on
Leeds did beat Hull to nil in the Saturday lunchtime kick-off in the Championship (11/8), but there was little else to shout about in the win/draw/win selections, particularly with Stevenage v Walsall abandoned.
BTTS landed in both Bradford v Plymouth (8/11) and Morecambe v Crewe (8/11), while you would have got your money back on the Burnley draw no bet at Newcastle.
We had an excellent day on Sunday, with six of our nine valid tips (Juventus v Inter was called off) landing.
Three of those tips were odds-against picks, including Lille to beat Nantes (13/8) and Getafe to beat Mallorca (6/5).
All three BTTS tips landed – Union Berlin v Wolfsburg (8/11), Lecce v Atalanta (3/5) and Bordeaux v Nice (17/20).
Wolves draw no bet v Tottenham (11/10) rounded off the weekend nicely.
