Here are five football tips that Jack Green thinks you should consider for Sunday’s Manchester derby.
Manchester United to win or draw
United are in great form, with six wins and three draws from their last nine games, so they look good value to avoid defeat against their local rivals on Sunday.
City have lost two of their last five league away games and could be in trouble if Kevin de Bruyne isn’t fit. Pep Guardiola’s side have lost both league matches that the Belgian has missed this season.
Both teams to score
United have scored in six successive matches, bagging 15 goals in total during that run, and should penetrate a City defence that will be without injured centre-back Aymeric Laporte.
City have scored in 30 of their last 32 matches in all competitions and will surely do their part here as well.
Bruno Fernandes to score
Fernandes has been excellent since joining United in January, scoring three goals, all of which have come in his last four appearances.
The Portuguese midfielder has averaged more shots per game in the Premier League than any other Manchester United player and is a good price to keep his hot streak going on Sunday.
Over 4.5 cards
United have picked up 54 yellow cards this season, the fifth-most of any Premier League team, and their meetings with City tend to be fiery affairs.
There have been at least five cards shown in all three of this season’s Manchester derbies.
Luke Shaw to be carded
Shaw has been booked in back-to-back matches, after picking up his sixth yellow card of the season against Derby on Thursday night.
The Englishman was also shown a yellow in this fixture last season.
