Phoenix Suns (-4.5) vs Toronto Raptors
The Suns have climbed into second place in the Western Conference thanks to a run of nine wins in their last 12 games, with their last four victories all coming by double figures.
Phoenix has the best away record in the NBA this season (14-6) and the league’s third-best net rating.
Expect a comfortable win when they face the Raptors, who won last time out but have lost nine of their last 10 games and traded away shooting guard Norman Powell on Thursday.
Portland Trail Blazers (-12) vs Orlando Magic
Orlando blew up its roster ahead of the trade deadline on Thursday, trading away three key players in Nikola Vucevic, Evan Fournier and Aaron Gordon.
The Magic were 15-29 even with those players and have lost 11 of their last 13 games, and they’re likely to get even worse now that they’ve shifted their focus towards rebuilding through youth.
The Trail Blazers are 26-18 this season including 11-6 against Eastern Conference teams, and this should be a blowout win for them against the depleted Magic.
Dallas Mavericks (-4.5) vs Indiana Pacers
The Mavericks are 8-3 over their last 11 games and have won their last two contests 132-92 and 128-108.
Another one-sided victory looks likely against the Pacers, who have lost nine of their last 14 games and are slipping further and further down the standings in the East.
Nate Bjorkgren’s team are just 7-10 against teams from the stronger Western Conference this season and are 8-12 at home, having lost six of their last seven games in Indiana.
Cleveland Cavaliers (+5.5) vs Los Angeles Lakers
The Lakers are struggling with LeBron James and Anthony Davis both sidelined by injury. They have lost four consecutive games, including two 17-point defeats to the Suns and Pelicans.
After a strong start to the season, the defending champions have now gone 7-11 since the middle of February, and the current state of their roster means they can’t be trusted to cover this spread against the Cavaliers.
The Cavs are toiling near the bottom of the Eastern Conference, but they have won three of their last five games and have a great chance to earn another victory here, particularly if Kevin Love and Collin Sexton return from minor injuries.
